Deep Drawn Stainless Steel Cups, Pans & Enclosures — In Stock

Deep drawn stainless steel cups and pans are used across food processing, industrial manufacturing, automotive, medical, and architectural applications wherever a seamless, corrosion-resistant metal enclosure or container is required. Unlike welded fabrications, deep drawn cups are formed from a single sheet of stainless steel in one continuous operation, producing a 100% seamless part with no weld seams, no leak paths, and uniform wall thickness throughout.

TMS stocks standard deep drawn cups and pans in 3-4 and 316 stainless steel, in diameters ranging from 4” to 24” and volumes from 0.15 to 14.5 gallons. Each cup features a flanged rim, able to mate cleanly with TMS lids. Lid configurations are flat, domed, or beaded, and they are a ready-made solution for enclosed containers, motor shrouds, housings, or storage applications. Customization options include holes, fittings, welding, and surface finishing are available in-house at TMS or through a fabricator of your choice. If your application requires a size or configuration not shown in the table below, TMS builds to print – contact us or submit a drawing through our Request a Quote form.

Benefits of Stainless Steel Deep Drawn Enclosures

Deep drawing produces parts from a single sheet of metal in a single forming operation, which means the finished cup has no welds, seams, or joints. For applications involving liquids, food contact, or pressure containment, this eliminates risks of leaking or corrosion, common with welded enclosures. The deep draw sheet metal stamping process also supports high production volumes with consistent output and uniform wall thickness, making it well suited for both prototype quantities and large and repeatable production runs. Compared to welding or spinning operations, deep drawing typically delivers lower cycle times per piece at volume, which translates directly to lower per-unit cost on larger orders.

Common Applications for Deep Drawn Stainless Steel Cups

TMS deep drawn cups are used in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. In food processing and hospitality, they serve as food storage containers, mixing vessels, and sanitary enclosures. In automotive and transportation manufacturing, they are used as motor shrouds, housings, and enclosures for electrical and mechanical components. In medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, seamless stainless steel cups and shells are used in equipment housings and sterile containment applications. Additional common uses include waste disposal containers, architectural and decorative enclosures, caps, rings, and custom metal stampings for assembly integration. Each cup can be paired with a matching TMS flat, domed, or beaded lid for a complete sealed assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stainless Steel Standard Funnels

The deep drawing process is when a flat sheet of metal is pressed by a hydraulic or mechanical press, into a cup shape using a punch and die set. It results in a seamless, cup shaped part with relatively uniform wall thickness and tight dimensional tolerances at high production speeds.

The metal spinning process forms a rotating blank over a mandrel on a lathe, and is better suited for low-volume runs, larger diameters, and more complex profiles.

TMS offers both processes and can help you determine which is right for your application based on volume, geometry, and material requirements. Contact us here to get started.

Standard cups are available in 304 and 316 stainless steel.

Yes. TMS can add holes, threaded fittings, sanitary fittings, or custom surface finishes in-house through our secondary forming methods. These include beading and edge rolling, stamping, welding, and polishing
