TMS Featured in Local Art Project!

As the weather warms up, so do the outdoor activities – and we’re excited to share one that’s close to home. Last summer, we were fortunate to have The Arts Commission, a local group to Toledo, reach out to us regarding a special project celebrating Toledo’s rich manufacturing history

Toledo, Ohio is rooted in history, especially when we’re talking about manufacturing. Located in downtown Toledo, on the Glass City Riverwalk, you will find the Field of Histories, a large-scale art installation highlighting the importance of manufacturing and how it has shaped our city. Toledo has deep industrial roots, and today it’s also gaining recognition as a vibrant place to live and create.

We’re proud to have contributed to this project with custom-made hemispheres on display. If you look closely, you will see a glass orb set into each hemisphere, etched with imagery of important inventions and milestones to our city’s history.

Take a look at the video below to see how we manufactured these unique pieces and helped bring a bit of Toledo’s story to life!

A Look Inside our Process: Deep Drawing

As we’ve previously mentioned, we’ve been forming metal for nearly a century. Metal spinning is in our DNA — a craft we’ve refined over decades. But what many people don’t realize is that deep drawing is another area where we excel.

That’s why we’re taking you behind the scenes for a closer look at this powerful forming method. Deep draw forming allows us to create strong, seamless shapes with ease — and it’s a core part of what we do. Deep drawing is one of the foundational processes behind many of the enclosures, containers, and covers we produce — and it’s as impressive as it is effective.

Why choose deep drawing? For applications where fatigue strength and consistent wall thickness are essential, deep drawing is often the go-to method. It’s commonly used to create everything from motor shrouds and tanks to cups, domes, vessels,  chambers, and canisters.

As we reflect on the freedoms we hold dear, we’d also like to take a moment to acknowledge a meaningful milestone. Last year, we were honored to be recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as one of the Top 100 Small Businesses in the country. With over 96 years of history behind us, this recognition was a proud moment for our entire team. As a small business rooted in American manufacturing, we’re proud to contribute to the innovation and progress that drive our nation forward. We’re privileged to fabricate and manufacture components that support a wide range of industries—and we remain committed to the craftsmanship and resilience that define our legacy.

Sharing our Knowledge

We aim to set the standard in the metal forming industry—not just through the parts we form, but by sharing the process and knowledge behind them. Looking for metal forming resources? On our YouTube channel, we consistently share videos that break down our processes, show how we make specific parts, and explore real-world applications.
